Product Design, Surface Design, and Packaging Design
What started as a palette exploration turned into the Scala Collection. Inspired by the color theory exercises of Josef Albers and light installations of James Turrell, this collection plays with geometric shapes and gradations in color. Through the design process, I tried many color combinations. We arrived at a Pucci-inspired palette. Each surface design was driven by how the shift from blues to purples occupied the space of our existing ceramic vessel and lacquer shapes. Pieces from this collection have appeared in Harper’s Bazaar UK (March 2023), People online (December 2022), Southern Living online (August 2023), Maison Française (September 2023), and WWD online (September 2023).
